What are bitcoin auto-withdrawals?

Bitcoin auto-withdrawals let you automatically withdraw your bitcoin balance to a predetermined Bitcoin address whenever it reaches your desired balance threshold.

How to set up an auto-withdrawal

By following these instructions you can set up your auto-withdrawal in just a few steps:

  1. Set your threshold: Choose a minimum bitcoin balance that, when reached, will trigger the withdrawal.
  2. Add your Bitcoin address(es): Add one or more addresses to receive your withdrawals.

How do bitcoin auto-withdrawals work?

Once set up, here’s what happens next:

  1. Triggering withdrawals: When your bitcoin balance reaches your threshold (from buying bitcoin, receiving a payment or earning via direct deposit converted to bitcoin), the auto-withdrawal will be triggered.
  2. Full balance withdrawal: Your entire bitcoin balance will be queued for withdrawal to your chosen address. You will be notified via push notification, (if enabled), and your bitcoin balance will be brought to zero since your bitcoin will be unavailable for making other transactions.
  3. Queue for broadcast: Once queued, there will be 12 hours where you can cancel your auto-withdrawal, after which time the withdrawal cannot be canceled.
  4. Broadcast: Your bitcoin withdrawal will be broadcast within 24 hours of reaching your threshold using the Flexible tier of on-chain withdrawals, which incurs no on-chain fees for you.
  5. Confirmation: Once confirmed on the blockchain, the withdrawal will be complete.
  6. Repeat until paused/canceled: The process will repeat whenever your balance reaches your threshold again.

If you add multiple Bitcoin addresses, each auto-withdrawal will go to the next address in your list until all are used, after which withdrawals will default to the last address until more are added.

Auto-withdrawal limits

  • Threshold range: The maximum balance threshold you can set is 500,000,000 sats (₿5.0) and the minimum is 1,000,000 sats (₿0.01).
  • Number of addresses: You can add as many bitcoin addresses as you want.
  • Availability of funds: Only available bitcoin counts towards your balance threshold. Any bitcoin purchased with pending deposits must wait to become available before triggering an auto-withdrawal.
  • Withdrawal limit: Limits are subject to your overall account limits, which you can view in the "Limits" section of your Account screen, and potentially increase with additional verification steps.
  • Pause/Resume: You can pause by toggling the feature off, provided the auto-withdrawal is not currently being executed for broadcast.
